FAQs

1 - FasTrak: Configuration and Diagnostic
  • • Local interface:
  • By using the display+keyboard interface it is possible to have access to a subset of commands in order to configure and perform diagnostic.
  • • HandHeld 375/475:
  • DD files are available on the website for configuration and diagnostic.
  • • AMS suite:
  • DD files for AMS are available on the website for configuration and diagnostic.
  • • RemoteControl sw connected by HART:
  • The RemoteControl interface is available free of charge and can connect a laptop to the FasTrak using an Hart modem (see for example website www.mactekcorp.com).
  • • RemoteControl sw connected by USB cable:
  • This solution is the most powerful and allows the full access to all the functionalities. A special cable must be used with an USB connector in one side and a special connector for the positioner (STI P/N 81569).
2 - SmarTrak: Configuration and Diagnostic (a)
  • • Local interface:
  • By using the display+keyboard interface it is possible to have access to a subset of commands in order to configure and perform diagnostic.
  • • RemoteControl sw connected by serial cable:
  • This solution is the most powerful and allows the full access to all the functionalities. A serial cable is required (pin to pin, only pin 2,3 and 5 are used). If required an USB to Serial adapter can be used, in this case it is suggested to use an adapter based of FTDI chip.
3 - SmarTrak: Configuration and Diagnostic (b)
  • • RemoteControl sw connected by USB cable:
  • This solution is the most powerful and allows the full access to all the functionalities. An USB cable (A to B type, like for a printer) is required. The USB driver is from FTDI, you can download it from www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm). It is strongly recommended to set the ‘Latency Timer’ in the advanced properties at 1ms.
4 - Spare parts
  • • Interchangeability of spare parts is guaranteed only when IMI STI ident number or serial number is indicated.
  • • All gaskets kit will be supplied without certificate.
5 - Damaged structural parts of actuator
  • As manufacturer IMI STI has responsibility for assembled actuators. IMI STI cannot take this responsibility when an actuator is not assembled and tested in our factory. For safety and responsibility reason, IMI STI always provides bare actuator quotation and not mechanical structural parts, in particular when changes are done on spring actuator, where risk of accident is higher. For this reason IMI STI is always going to quote bare actuator.
6 - How to contact us?
  • At the page "Contacts" you can contact us for various matters:
  • • SALES → If you need a quotation for a new construction or spare parts.
  • • TECHNICAL SUPPORT → If you have a problem during calibration or a malfunction on IMI STI products.
  • • CAREERS → If you want to work with us.
7 - How to store IMI STI's device?
  • There is a file in Download area called "9000_r00_En-It" which provides all instructions to store our products.
8 - How to lift IMI STI actuators?
  • The lifting and handling should be made by qualified staff and in compliance with the laws and provisions in force. The eye-bolts are appropriate for the lifting of the actuator alone and NOT for the valve + actuator assembly. Avoid that during the handling the actuator passes above the staff. The actuator should be handled with appropriate lifting means.
9 - Which air you must use with IMI STI products?
  • There is a file in Download area called "9028_r00_En" which contains all information needed about quality of the air to use for all of our products (actuators, positioners and accessories).
